Keller Cycling Activity Route

The Keller Rad-Aktiv-Route is a circular tour of 58 km in total. It leads predominantly along forest and field paths; almost 40% of the route is on paved roads. 

The HUNSRÜCK Cycling Activity Routes:
Carefully selected for active cyclists, these routes have been linked together on existing cycle paths and are consistently signposted. The routes have a mountain biking character. The focus is primarily on providing a nature-oriented experience for the sporty, ambitious cyclist in the most idyllic landscapes of our region.

Where the long Hunsrück quartzite ridge, which begins at the Rhine with the Binger Forest, then continues in the Soonwald, the Lützelsoon and the Idarwald, finally transitions into the Hochwald and ends at the Saar, there rise the heights of the Schwarzwälder Hochwald as the last. They are an ideal area for long, active cycling tours.

Starting point Kell town center "Alte Mühle" (0 km, 458 m elevation gain) - Rest area at the large paddling pool (3.4 km, 511 m elevation gain) - Hilltop with magnificent view of the Hochwald ridge (9.4 km, 522 m elevation gain) - Recreation area at the forest pond with barefoot path (12 km, 480 m elevation gain) - Ruwer bridge near Zerf (18.7 km, 346 m elevation gain) - "Rübezahl" campsite (22.9 km, 480 m elevation gain) - Crossing K 139 (27.1 km, 505 m elevation gain) - Crossing B 268 (30.5 km, 424 m elevation gain) - Crossing L 142/L151 (39.8 km, 658 m elevation gain) - Turnoff K 69 onto forest path called Schwarzwälder Schneise (42.5 km, 573 m elevation gain) - Cross at forest intersection (45.4 km, 668 m elevation gain) - after ascent, junction with hillside path (47.9 km, 645 m elevation gain) - crossing K 74 (54.8 km, 540 m elevation gain) - destination Kell town center "Old Mill" (58 km, 458 m elevation gain)
