Accessibility statement

The Tourist Information Office Hochwald-Ferienland e. V. strives to make its digital application accessible to all.

This accessibility statement applies to this digital application on this device.

Status of compliance with requirements

This digital application is partially compliant with accessibility requirements.

During development, particular emphasis was placed on simple, easily recognizable operation that is also easily accessible on public touchscreens.

Barrier-free operation of the touchscreen

The public touchscreen offers additional accessibility features for people with different needs.

Operation from a wheelchair

A customized view can be activated via the button with the wheelchair symbol.

The navigation and main controllable areas are moved to the lower half of the screen. This makes important functions easier to reach even from a lower operating height.

Operation for smaller people and children

An additional user assistance feature is available in the main menu.

This button moves the navigation items further down. This makes it easier for shorter people and children to reach and use the navigation.

Design and operation

When designing the application, we pay attention to, among other things:

  • large and easily accessible buttons,
  • easily readable font,
  • sufficient color contrasts,
  • a clear navigation system,
  • uniform symbols and controls,
  • The simplest and most understandable operation possible.

Easy language

We also provide information about the essential content of this application and how to use it in plain language.

Information in Plain Language

Content that is not fully accessible

Despite our efforts, some content and features may not yet be fully accessible.

This applies in particular to:

  • interactive maps and individual functions within the maps,
  • Content that is automatically imported from external tourism data sources,
  • individual images for which there may not be a sufficient text alternative available from the external data source,
  • Some interactive functions may not be fully operable with all assistive technologies.

We are working to identify existing barriers and further improve the accessibility of the application.

Preparation of this declaration

This statement was created on September 21, 2026.

The accessibility assessment was carried out as part of a self-assessment of the digital application.

The statement is regularly reviewed and updated when changes are made to the application.

Feedback, contact and personal help

Have you encountered any barriers in this application? Or are you experiencing difficulties using it?

The staff at the tourist information office will be happy to assist you.

The tourist information office is located directly behind the touchscreen. Personal assistance is available there during opening hours.

The current opening hours are displayed on the touchscreen.
