Privacy Policy

1. Responsible person

The entity responsible for data processing in connection with this digital information system is:

Tourist Information Hochwald-Ferienland eV,
Bahnhofstrasse 34,
54427 Kell am See

Telephone: 0049 6589-1044
Email: info@hochwald-ferienland.de

2. Using the touch panel

This digital information system serves solely to provide tourist information.

During normal use of the touch panel, no personal data of visitors is requested or stored. No registration, login, or creation of personal user profiles takes place.

The information system is operated via a permanently installed device. Technically necessary connection and access data that may be generated when retrieving the provided content relates to this device and its internet connection, and not to the personal devices of visitors.

3. Analytics, advertising and tracking

This information system does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking services that record the behavior of individual visitors or create personal user profiles.

No personal data is collected during the use of the touch panel.

4. Local storage and technically necessary functions

Insofar as information is stored in the browser or on the permanently installed device, this is done exclusively to the extent necessary for the technical operation and the functions of the information system accessed by the user.

No cookies or similar technologies are used for advertising, analysis or tracking purposes.

5. Maps and tourist information

The information system provides maps, hiking and cycling tours, accommodations, events, restaurants, leisure activities and other tourist information.

The selection and display of this content is done via the permanently installed touch panel. No personal user profiles are created and no personal data of the respective visitor is collected.

6. QR codes and external internet offers

The information system can display QR codes linking to further information, routes, or external internet services.

Simply displaying a QR code does not transmit any personal data of the visitor.

If a QR code is scanned with a personal smartphone or other private device, further access is granted via that personal device and outside the touch panel. The respective privacy policies of the providers responsible for the subsequently accessed websites apply.

7. Reporting faults via email

The information system provides access to a QR code for the voluntary reporting of disturbances, damage or problems, for example on hiking trails.

The QR code can open a prepared email or the email program installed on the visitor's personal device.

Displaying or scanning the QR code does not yet transmit any personal data to the Hochwald-Ferienland Tourist Information Association. Data is only transmitted when the user sends the email from their own device.

When we receive such a fault report, we process the data voluntarily submitted by the user. This may include, in particular, the sender's email address, the information contained in the message, and any photos or other information voluntarily submitted.

The data will be used exclusively for processing the reported fault, for verifying the facts and, if necessary, for contacting you with any follow-up questions.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in receiving and processing information and in eliminating disruptions, damage, and other problems with tourist infrastructure.

Submitting a fault report is voluntary. There is no obligation to transmit personal data via this method.

8. Recipients of fault reports

Personal data from a fault report will only be made accessible to those persons or bodies who need it to process the report.

Insofar as external service providers are used for the operation of the technical infrastructure or email communication, they may also come into contact with the transmitted data within the scope of the respective technical service.

9. Storage duration

Personal data from fault reports will only be stored for as long as is necessary for processing the report and any necessary follow-up measures.

The data will then be deleted unless there are legal retention obligations or other legal reasons that prevent deletion.

10. Automated Decisions and Profiling

No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation takes place.

11. Rights of data subjects

Insofar as personal data are processed, data subjects have, in accordance with the legal requirements, in particular the right to information about the stored personal data, to rectification of inaccurate data, to erasure, to restriction of processing and, where applicable, to data portability.

Insofar as the processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, there is also a right to object to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR.

To exercise these rights, you can contact the responsible body mentioned above.

12. Right of appeal

Data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of their personal data.

The responsible data protection supervisory authority in Rhineland-Palatinate is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Rhineland-Palatinate.
