Description

This tour promises pure nature along the entire route.

You can't get a better nature experience: for almost 30 kilometers you roll through deep forests and along the unspoiled Wadrill river.

Directions

Starting at the Old Mill, the tour leads mostly flat towards Reinsfeld, but before reaching the village, it turns right, crosses the Hunsrück High Road, and immediately afterwards plunges into the idyllic Wadrill Valley. Following the tranquil Wadrill River, the route takes bikers to Grimburg Castle, built around 1150. After extensive preservation and reconstruction work between 1978 and 2000, the castle complex now presents itself as a tourist attraction with diverse cultural uses and is definitely worth a stop. Refreshments are available at the Grimburger Hof. The route continues along narrow forest paths up to the Hochwaldalm, which is managed during the season, and from there downhill via mostly paved forest paths, with a detour to the Teufelskopf, back to Kell am See, where you can stop for refreshments in the town at the Hotel Zur Post or the Hotel Typisch as well as at the reservoir at the Hotel Fronhof, in the Hau's am See and in the Landalpark Hochwald .
