Description

This varied loop at Teufelskopf is suitable for gravel newbies or for a relaxed half-day tour.

After a challenging climb to the Teufels- und Schimmelkopf ridge, the tour largely passes by the Panzbruch nature reserve and the Fleschfelsen.

Directions

The tour leads across the ridge of the Black Forest High Forest along well-maintained forest paths to Greimerath. There, refreshments await in the Greimerath Forest or at the Panzhaus Inn on the B 268, before we continue along the cycle path running parallel to the K 139 towards Panzhaus (B 268), passing the Panzbruch Nature Reserve, where grazing by Taurus cattle helps maintain the open character of this protected landscape. We turn into the forest and cycle mostly flat to Oberzerf and Zerf. Feeling hungry? Then a stop at the Pizzeria Oase or the Winzerpost Country Inn is recommended. In Zerf, we join the Ruwer-Hochwald Cycle Path and follow it until just before Mandern. Shortly before leaving the cycle path, you can see the Fleschfelsen, an impressive quartzite rock formation, through a clearing. Passing the hiking hut, we drive on an asphalt road to Mandern and from there across open fields and asphalt farm roads to the starting point in Waldweiler.
