Zerf Forest Adventure Trail
Description
Stretching a total of 2.25 km (1.25 km for the western section and 1.0 km for the eastern section), this trail is all about discovery, experience, and learning.
It's especially geared towards families.
Detailed description
Following extensive modernization, the forest adventure trail reopened in May 2025.
This modernization was made possible by funding from the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park.
Silas, a forest enthusiast, and Karo, a deer cub, accompany visitors of all ages as mascots along the trail.
Take your time and immerse yourself in the fascinating realm of trees, plants, fungi, and forest inhabitants.
Here, everything revolves around discovery, experience, and learning.
For we are in the world's largest oxygen factory and oasis of relaxation – the forest.
How can we perceive it, and how can we find relaxation within it?
What creatures inhabit the forest, and why is it the basis of life for countless animal and plant species, and not least for us humans?
The ten stations along the trail address these and many other questions.
On the eastern section, you have the opportunity to experience the forest habitat as a natural environment, engaging all your senses.
In contrast, the stations on the western part address current topics and are more informative in nature.
