Schillingen Leisure Facility

54429 Schillingenapprox. 4.6 km from Kell am See

Description

The Schillingen leisure centre - located about 2 km southwest of the village of Schillingen - offers visitors a unique range of recreational and experiential activities.

Detailed description

The recreational area at Lake Schillinger offers a wide range of leisure activities and attractions for all ages. The

Spießbratenhalle (a traditional Austrian restaurant) with its large beer garden
serves rustic cuisine and regional specialties.

A 1.5 km barefoot path
invites you to take off your shoes and socks and experience nature up close. The various elements, such as soft forest floor, grass, sand, mulch, gravel, logs, and mud, provide your feet with a reflexology massage that you'll remember fondly for a long time. At the end of the path, cool and cleanse your feet in the clear waters of the Flonterbach stream. Your feet will thank you!

nature
trail with 18 family-friendly stations explains many interesting facts about the forest and its inhabitants, especially for children and teenagers. The mostly interactive stations playfully illustrate the interplay of natural forces and raise awareness among visitors about the importance of preserving our valuable natural landscape.

- Fishing -
The centerpiece of the recreation area is the forest pond, which is also a fishing pond and is maintained by the local angling club.
Stocked with: trout, tench, carp, roach.
Catch limits: trout 4, tench 2, carp 1, roach 10.

- Fatima Chapel -
In 1931/32, the farmer Johann Werner built a wayside shrine to the Virgin Mary here and, following the example of Saint Nicholas of Flüe, a simple hut. In the following years, the shrine was replaced by a stone grotto, a chapel was built, and a statue of Our Lady of Fatima was erected. It remains a place of contemplation to this day. Children particularly enjoy ringing the heavy bell.

Dogs are allowed in the recreation area, provided they are kept on a leash.
