RuT 3 - Circular hiking trail near Greimerath
Description
Detailed description
This themed hiking trail was created as part of the "Ruwer and Tributaries" water project, a major nature conservation project of the Trier-Saarburg district, which aims to preserve and develop the Ruwer River and its tributaries, along with their floodplains, as a near-natural aquatic and riparian landscape.
Along the 6.5 km route, you will learn about the whinchat, which inhabits the wet and damp meadows here. The Eselsbach and Bingelbach streams flow through the Greimerath Basin, at the lowest point of which lies the "Panzbruch." This fen has been a nature reserve since 1983. The trail
begins in the center of Greimerath, at the bridge on Hochwaldstraße/the intersection with the main road.
Hiking time: Approximately 2.5 hours.
